Way of The Stick & Blade 2016

Here are Guro Victor's padded sword & shield tournament rules. These are not the official rules, these are just my personal observations. Weapons in this tournament are about the length of a bolo (messer or machete which is about 26-34 inches). Other weapons include bolo & shield, etc.,

1. Point sparring format using blade strikes and techniques. There are three rounds per match. Each round is two minutes long. Best of three wins the match. A total of five points or two minutes, which ever comes first, will end the round.
2. One point for each hit. I am not aware of any point awarded for disarms, I guess fight continues.
3. A simultaneous exchange, or near simultaneous hit, is considered DOUBLE KILL and no point for double kill. Three double kills will end the round as draw/tie.
4. In case of a draw/tie, total points from each round will be tallied to break the tie in the match.
5. Two of the three judges must raise the same color flag for a score or a double kill.
