February 1865: Abraham Lincoln, #USA (Alex Gardner / Library of Congress). Another portrait today, this time of the 16th #President of the United States, Abraham Lincoln. I’ve been wanting to do this shot for a very long time as it is one of the definitive portraits of the Republican presidents, and used the opportunity of re-hauling the website as a good example of how the entire color reconstruction process works, parts of which you can see in the edited time-lapse. Taken shortly before his assassination in April 1865, Lincoln wears his trademark @brooksbrothers suit, with other references coming from a photograph of the actual watch seen in the image (the hook is identical) and period references for the other props in the portrait. Incidentally, the fate of the conspirators can be seen in my upcoming book #ThePaperTimeMachine #restoration #colorization #timelapse #republican #potus #portrait #brooksbrothers #1860s #1800s #dynamichrome @photoshop #adobecc @adobe_premiere_pro - Source: www.loc.gov/item/98504569/ A post shared by Jordan J.
